Mental Health Clinician

Advanced Graduate-level Employment and Training Opportunity in the Forensic/Civic Health Specialty

Purpose of the Program:

The overarching goal of this training is to help prevent recidivism, provide prevention and early intervention, and promote community wellbeing. This clinical training program is designed to address the complexity of clients’ mental health challenges, specifically as it relates to the forensic domain in the context of prevention and early intervention, in addition to substance abuse. The training involves didactic seminars, psych testing practices, as well as action oriented research and evaluation. The structure of the program includes practicing as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary care team, inclusive of attorney as case manager, substance abuse specialist, psychiatrist, and other mental health professionals.

 

The aim of this advanced graduate-level program is to provide practicing opportunity in the area of the forensic/civic health specialty with the focus on prevention and early intervention. A Certificate of Completion will be provided on an annual basis.

 

The target client population may include the full spectrum from low to high intensity level of care, of different age groups, from culturally and linguistically divers communities.

 

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in psychology or other discipline with waivered or registered with the California Board of Psychology or the California Board of Behavioral Sciences

  • Successful completion of doctoral internship program (in psychology)

 

Mental Health Clinician would be eligible to earn hours of supervised professional experience (SPE) required for licensing in California. 

 

Salary/Compensation:

  • Master’s degree:    $45,000 plus comprehensive benefits

  • PhD/PsyD:             $50,000 plus comprehensive benefits

  • Two letters of support from direct clinical supervisors identifying relevancy of the match with the program

  • Official transcript for verification of degree

Please note that the ability to manage highly stressful situations is a prerequisite for this position, as stress is inherent in working with individuals with mental health and emotional conditions.
